Blood in the Water, by Black Sheets Of Rain
Taking their musical cues from classic acts like Judas Priest, Black Sabbath, Kings X, Thin Lizzy, Accept, Metallica, Iron Maiden, UFO, Anthrax and Dio, Black Sheets Of Rain’s focus is on writing memorable songs delivered with relentless energy. Their sound distils influences from across the metal spectrum, from doom to thrash, into a hard-hitting contemporary sound. Pounding drums, rumbling bass, biting guitars and gritty vocals underpin the band’s heavy, melodic material. A power trio in the vintage mould, the band feature David Nuttall (Drums/Vocals, ex Toy Dolls), Matt Lambourne (Bass / Vocals, ex Solomon Groove) and Rich Davenport (Guitar/Lead Vocals, ex See Red, Atomkraft). Songs from their forthcoming debut EP, have already met with an enthusiastic reception at live shows supporting established UK Metal bands Eliminator, Seven Sisters and Conjuring Fate.

These Grandmothers Are Recording Ukraine’s Folk Music Traditions | Atlas Obscura
These Ukrainian grandmothers are helping preserve the long history of Ukraine’s folk music. Miklós Both, founder of the Polyphony Project, is on a mission: to collect folk music in Ukraine. In the last four years, the project has visited over 100 different villages and recorded 2000 songs sung by the women in each village. All these folk songs are then compiled into a digital archive, as a way to preserve the long-standing musical folklore tradition of each Ukrainian village. The Jeeni Refugee Aid channel supports refugee aid and charities across the world.

As the third track to Profiiit's newest album, 'Alexander' (released 28/02/22 Dead Poets Society), 'Son Of Zeus' features the diverse and talented rapper at full-force. The track also features some alternative uses of sampling as a spoken word about "the frontiers of space" which rounds up the track superbly. Profiiit is a groundbreaking and restless force in the East Coast US underground rap scene. His style cannot be simply defined in terms of genres due to his insatiable need to constantly move and push his sound to new levels, however influences include J. Cole, Kanye West, Pusha T, Kendrick Lamar and the late XXXTENTACION. Something Profiiit has in common with all of these inspirations is a long endeavour for greatness.
